TRAINING PHILOSOPHY

Every good trainer should have a training philosophy. It’s a critical element in all teaching approaches and a guiding force for students. My five-point philosophy is based on study and experience.
1) MINDSET – the crucial key to success in anything. I work with clients on the psychology of change.
2) GOAL SETTING – knowing what you want to accomplish is the first step to success.
3) NUTRITION – regular exercise is pointless without proper diet. It’s a simple choice.
4) ASSESSMENT - record keeping and continual assessment allows clients to track progress.
5) SIMPLICITY – training programmes will always be simple, comprehensive and effective. No gimmicks. No jargon.

LOCOMOTIVE INSPIRATION

Bruce Lee is a model of discipline, strength and wisdom. His spirit continues to be the inspirational force that motivates people to look after and nurture their bodies and souls and to bring out the best in themselves. Fans of his movies are impressed with his physical brilliance, martial arts practitioners are amazed by his deep understanding of combative arts, while others found guidance in his underlying philosophy, which wove the spiritual and physical aspects of martial art together into a way of life. Bruce Lee was also my inspiration to create Locomotive. If you train with me, he might influence you.

”A teacher is never a giver of truth – he is a guide, a pointer to the truth that each student must find for himself. A good teacher is merely a catalyst.” Bruce Lee

I like to think of personal training as one-to-one physical education. Not only does it awaken in me a certain sense of responsibility but it also emphasizes my professionalism. I will be teaching you how to exercise and I will also introduce you to the basics of nutrition, anatomy, biomechanics and even some cognitive psychology. I will be reinforcing your knowledge throughout your training by always explaining you what we are doing and why.
